The results of the extensive ‘push saddle one way, tyre the other’ test, carried out under strict conditions, by a qualified and competent person; were actually pretty good – more wheel flex than rear end flex. Less than the Sub5 I reckon, more than the Niner (HT!).

It is an ‘S’, but with upgraded forks and hubs.

Or where did you have to send the wife, so you could buy the new bike!

My wife was whisked away by her sister on a trip to see family in Dubai.

Bike is an insurance replacement for my Niner – already bumping down steps outside has led me to conclusively conclude that small wheels are indeed smaller, and not as good at steep steps.

Just been for a wee spin round the gnarly park singletrack / gritty urban trails of Sheffield – gotta sort shocks out, but its niiiiiice 🙂

    Cool. Looks well.

I know what you mean about wanting your new bike in another colour. I wanted my 5 in white but couldn’t justify the extra cash at the time as it was a massive outlay with the upgrades. I went with ‘free/default’ Silver.

I’m now sorely tempted to strip the bike after this weekends riding and send it off to Halifax for a bit of ‘Cloud White’. Unfortunately, its now £170 for a change of colour instead of £50 at the time of purchase. Hey ho!

Well its now a £100 upgrade – how come I can get a good blast down and powercoat job done locally for £40?

I’ve been tempted by some of the posts on here talking about £40 powdercoats but I’d be worried that it maybe a risk.

Someone mentioned that Orange’s respray service apparently blast and re-spray, replace bearings and gromits, re-test frame? (I presume from a strength perspective, FAT style?) and new graphics.

Apart from new bearings, gromits and graphics i’m not sure how this differs from commercial powdercoaters.

Yes, but as a NEW option on a NEW bike? Its a case of using one colour, not the other….£100 seems steep!
