Just in case anybody's interested, just thought I'd post up my Roadrat incarnation. It's a kind of an audax/tourer hybrid. Pretty much the complete drop bar build, but added
- lx rear mech
- sugino xd600 triple chainset
- 105 front mech
- shimano bar end shifters(tiagra I think)
- 9spd xt cassette
- shimano touring pedals
- mudguards and a brooks b17
Realise it's not going to win any beauty contests, but I like it.

ps, I had the steerer left full length, because I expect it to do touring duties at some point.

no, forget the brand. Wanted sks but it was cyclescheme job and my chosen shop doesn't stock sks. I'm going to try using a cork as a spacer when I'm bored with nothing better to do.

i used the body of a felt tip pen cut to length as a spacer.
