Prety much as per the title, some nice chap e-mailled me today enquiring to the provonnance of a Carrerahe’d seen on his local Gumtree listings that bore some remarkable similarites to the one I sold here a while back.

So remarkably alike were our bikes that the seller had used my pictures and my entire description of the bike, verbatim. Now the seller is located a long way from my customer so it is really unlikely to be the same bike.

So I ask you

WTF?

STW comes out fairly high in Google searches. If I wanted to sell a bike and CBA to write an advert…

It’s a very common scam. Item is somewhere remote (actually does exist/ belong to scammer) cheap price. Gets the odd sucker apparently.

Can you not report it to Gumtree?
