    Love this:

Finally got it built up today:

Absolutely love it, the attention to detail & finish is fantastic! – the best I have seen.

    New bits:

    Frame: 2Souls QH (XL)

    Forks: 2015 RS Pikes 140mm, 51mm offset.

Tyres, cassette, chain, chainring, headset & BB.

I spent an age trying to figure out if I could stretch to a Quarterhorse. Sadly it was a no.

    It is a cracker, enjoy.

    Nice.
It looks a lot like a Dialled Alpine apart from the bent seat tube.
How do they compare geometry wise?

I feel out of the loop, never heard of these before. Lovely – really nice.

    Reminds me of a Canfield.

Love that I think you got the last one in the ceramic coating according to Marcus

Thanks. Well, I thought I did at first when I ordered it on 22nd December, but they got back in touch to say it was a Slim Jim they had in XL, not a QH….

So I asked for it to be powder coated in the nearest colour to Ceramic.

I did have the choice of any colour I liked, but it was that grey with the leather wrap on the downtube that got me lusting for one a while back.

    Love this:

If you’d have asked nicely they’d have given you an extra one for a keyring. 8)

You’re going to love it though even without the free extras.
The best handling 29er HT out there.

Its nice, except for the crazy slack seat angle. Any reason for it?

Ah man – want one of those keyrings! 🙂

I did get a free BB for the delay mind you….

Is that a miniscule Hope hub keyring? 😀

If it rides as good as it looks (IMO) 🙂 I should be in for a real treat….

To cram in the gigantic wheel? – thus keeping a short wheel base?

Dunno really, but it sounds good…..

    Sure looks like it.
They did a run of valve caps. Some of them got turned into keyrings.

Oh god, they’re almost common now! 😉

Did you weigh the frame.I tried asking 2 Souls. However although they were happy to tell me the difference in weight between frames,I could not get any info on the actual weight of a Quarterhorse.

    Hope not….. 😳

    Did you weigh the frame.

    No.

I kinda wish I had though. In saying that, I never bought it to build a light bike, so not really bothered, it would just be nice to know.

It isn’t a crazy slack seat angle, just an optical illusion – draw a straight line (which hits the tyre) and it is fairly regular.

I build my own 29er frames with 16″ chainstays and the bent seat tube comes out of the bb at 90 degrees and ends at 66 degrees. The effective (straight line) is about 72…..

Very nice bike btw – if I didn’t do my own (very similar) thing I’d buy one.

Oh that’s very nice Alan, I hope you’ll abuse it as it so deserves, steep, technical, gnarly.
It’s just THE best hardtail 29er frame in production at present

As a big fan of 29er HTs I must say that looks like a stunning bike.

    Thanks all!

Really looking forward to its maiden voyage on Saturday…..

As much as I’d love to hit GT, I think due to the weather it might need to be Comrie Croft – still have a blast none the less.

A Question for singlespeedstu & or Scienceofficer:

re. the back end, I have the dropouts in their front most position, so the wheelbase is at its minimum.

Do I now just nip up the two smaller diameter bolts to keep it in place?

    Regards,

    Alan.

Alan, slacken the slider bolts x 4, adjust using the small adjuster bolts x 2 to gain preferred wheelbase and then re tighten the slider bolts.
I had the first one, them 2 fly by nights copied me

    OP.
You been out on it yet?

Nope 🙁 – well about 200 yards to adjust gear cable tension.

The Mrs has not been well, so I’ve been on father duties all weekend….. – how selfish falling ill when I’m itching to get out on the bike!!!

Heading to Comrie Croft on Saturday for its maiden voyage, unless I can sneek out mid week

The only thing is once you’ve ridden it you’ll keep pushing that barrier a little bit further, you’ll just want to keep going a little bit steeper

Steeper… Push it…. Ride it fast…. Alan doesn’t do any of this! He rides like a big girls blouse (being polite). He used to drop his saddle to ride down kerbs and refused to ride off a foot higher drop at Ae a couple of years back.

Lovely bike but he will still spend most of Saturday eating the dust from my tyres and staring at my arse as I disappear into the distance on my 26er… The shame!

Seriously though mate, it looks the granny’s flange! Looking forward to Saturday.

That is lovely adp. Probably the only frame I’d go for if I was replacing my Big Wig. Looking forward to some ride reports and if you are ever up near Aberdeen let me know, I’d love a shot 😀

Mega Lol’s! Couldn’t resist mate. Roll on Saturday, passed Comrie today on my way to Furnace and it looks good. No snow to tell of. Roll on Saturday.

Also looking forward to the first ride report. Especially how it differs to the Solaris.
