I’ve started to write a blog about baking, only two posts so far, but probably another coming in two days about shortbread…

any comments, I’ve never ‘written’ before, so any comments on how to improve are gratefully received!

    Very nice.
I do a bit of baking myself and I have dabbled at blogging on a mates site and quite enjoyed it so I should really set one up myself.

Looking forward to seeing what else you decide to bake. I prefer eating savoury but baking sweet things.

Nice pie, you could have beaten eggs into the filling too for maximum nom nom nom. And bacon.

I like the look of that lovely golden crust, but there’s a reason that that butterfly cutter never got used – it’s odd/disconcerting seeing butterflies on a pie.

I’ll be making a marmalade bread and butter pudding later on for tea – does that count as baking?

I think I got the recipe here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/egg_and_bacon_pie_09677

… but it would work fine with some veg in there too.

    Potatoes are another option:

And if you’re getting into it, Nigella’s “How to be a domestic goddess” is excellent, and has been a long-lasting source of amusement to wife+kids who seem to think it’s very funny calling me a “diosa domestica”.

Good stuff. Just started doing a tad of baking myself so this’ll be something to compare/aspire to.
