...now what's it useful for? Seems a bit of extraneous gadget...

But It flashes red during periods of inactivity so you know you are stationary! (My mum loves hers ๐Ÿ™„ )

it's useful for returning and getting the vivofit 2 that's released in a months time

Combine it with other garmin devices like a running watch / edge device and you can track more movement along with your exercise activities

I've had mine for the best part of a year now, it's just a bit of a spur to get me moving, I usually clock around 11 or 12 thousand steps a day.
The first segment of the red bar tells you you've been idle for an hour, the next four segments are 1/4 hour each, you need to do 200 steps to clear it all.

It is a Vivofit 2.

So far its told me I've walked 2k around the house connect to my HRM, and no amount of getting up and making coffee is reducing the red bar at all. It'll be interesting to see my sleep activity tomorrow - I think anyway.

Am I right in assuming all that this will do is add to my calorie's burned number?
