Because I've been happy with what I had I ain't got a clue about whats out there.
I have/had Niteflux Photon Plus. Tripple LEDs They run/ran for 2.5/5.6/11 hours and all settings were useable. The only thing I was never quite happy about was the narrow beam width.
Like the look of the USE, happy with the Joystick I've got.

Have you seen the DX light? that combined with a head torch for around £80 all in seems to be the best bet.

I've got a Hope Vision 4 which has a massive spread, maybe a bit wide at the expense of throw. Value-wise it can't hold a candle to the DX, but the build quality and performance is great.

What's up with your Niteflux by the way? Seems a shame to chuck a relatively new light in the bin, could you get it going again with some tinkering?

It appears the inteligent battery ain't that inteligent and they've dropped them.
It died over summer from not being used, and I think they were going off on the shops shelf.
So I've paid for them and can't get a warranty replacement.
