Did everyone see Chrissy Schmid talk about her hustband Staff Sergeant Olaf Schmid's, who was sadly killed in Afghanistan.
Got to be one of the most moving things I have ever seen on News, what an incredible woman.

This woman is an absolute gift to the Army's PR department, and you've all fallen for it
Young, blonde, slim, fit and absolutely well-prepped by Army PR with the medals, and the wedding ring, and the poppy, and the brave grin.
She's no more "incredible" than any other Army widow.
Where are the Army wives who are short, fat, ugly slappers? There must be loads of them. Do you think they are less dignified, less devastated, less representative of our collective loss than this woman?

Eldridge has it on the nose. Local news showed a mother grieving for her son who was as dignified and devastated by the loss. His pregnant wife was unavailable, they had married not long before his deployment.

I Lost a good friend a few weeks back, his girl friend was on the news but she was not as "together" as ssgt Schmid's wife. Mrs Schmid has been outstanding and i dont think that the army/MOD are using her as a PR asset. i have only been the army for 4 years now and have lost a few friends and i is sad BUT it is good/needed for the public to hear about how hard some of us get it.
