  • Music files from a USB stick or disk via Blu-ray player?

I’m out to get a Blu-ray player, and whilst most of the latest features, such as streaming Youtube or other on-line content, are not nearly as interesting to me as pure picture and sound quality I do want one feature which is currently confusing me:

Does anyone have any useful information about storing music (and possibly pictures and video) on a removable USB device and then playing that through Blu-ray via AV amp? Is it only the latest players that can do that? How do you browse the removable device?

    Any recommendations on Blu-ray player?

    Thanks!

My Panasonic BlueRay player plays MP3’s from USB through the TV. The TV has optical audio out which I am then running into an AMP. This does as you suggest but I haven’t tried FLAC or other lossless audio files to check. I cant remember which model I have but its great 🙂

Cheers. So much easier than asking in the shop!
