Hi we are coming over to Ironbridge Coalport,Shropshire next year.
And we are looking for possible routes / rides in the surrounding area.

One of our days we’ll be heading over to Cannock Chase.

So if anybody has any ideas, that would be great.
Look forward to hearing from anybody.

Sustrans Route 45 goes right through the IronBridge Gorge.
I’ve ridden it from the South, up through Bridnorth, as far as the Iron Bridge itself.
Most of that section is a disused railway, so not a particularly interesting ride, although it’s nice scenery.
No personal experience of any other trails in that immediate area.

There are some cheeky trails to be had directly opposite the Ironbridge next to the power station. About 20-30 minutes ride away is the Wrekin and the Ercall which has a few good trails. The Wrekin itself is best ridden up the main path and then either once at the top continuing over the other side which is pretty steep and rutted and then following the trail left or right around the base of the hill or the second option of heading back the way you came and just before the half way house turning left and then looking for some singletrack descents through the bracken on the right. There are also some small pockets of wood and singletrack on the Ironbridge side behind Woodside heading over towards the Telford Centre.
