I was planning a trip to Corrour estate tomorrow returning Saturday (nd I can’t miss the return as I’m travelling on to family).

It would involve a walk from the train stop to the estate (5miles).

Weather not looking good – esp the return:

Are there any other forecasts? Is this one a good one?

MWIS is pessimistic more often than not; compare with BBC for a balance…Also remember MWIS is at summit level.

The BBC use a comedy weather dartboard for their predictions.

The police and Transerve use the metoffice forecasts.

A train got stuck in the snow at Corrour last week!

Too dark now but this is not a long way away and at asimilar height so would give yo some clue as to the conditions.

    Matt, quite right.

(I mentioned it is a point of interest rather than a prediction).

Cheers all, looks perhaps viable then?

TJ I’m going to the lodge/estate bit, I’ve not checked it out on the map yet!

I’d be walking there 12pm and back for 8:30am (torch needed obv!)

The track is a landrover track and obvious so no great navigation skills needed You could bike it – I have :-).

It fairly high up – we got frost in may there so weather could well be wild.

Well you lot and druid talked me into it. I’ll let you know how I get on, but not for a couple of days-no signal up there.

It’s OK guys, the hitman will be waiting in the woods on the north side of the loch.

MWIS is best, but they tend to err on the side of caution. Forecasts are more for the hills than the glens too.
