Ok I’ve done most of the tracks around this area.
But never got a chance to do the Mont Jovet to magic carpet
Track due to bad weather or timing.

Going there this year to tick it off. Can anyone point me in the right direction.
I know it goes durectly from
the refuge, is it a straight forward follow your nose down to Bozel?

Head pretty much due south from the Refuge, bear right a bit off single track, onto and along a gravel road for only about 50m. Turn south west off this road down an obvious narrow single track. This has excellent “cross meadow flow” for a few Km, then enters the woods (Bois de la Cour). There are a few ways down through the hairpins in the woods, but it’s well used and the main route is pretty obvious, mostly on single track with a few short bits on gravel forestry roads.

This eventually should pop you back out on the tarmac road in La Cour. The fun route from here is to turn back due north, pedal up and along that tarmac road for about 2km, through Mirabozon. At this point the road rounds a hairpin over a river, turning back south, and then immediately turns eastwards. At this point, look for the entrance to the singletrack on the south side of the road (it’s fairly steep)

This is an awesome bit of singletrack, full of tight hairpins, but also with some amazing fast bits/jumps/drops etc. It runs the whole way down beside the river, eventually coming down a grassy bank, via a few tight hairpins on to the road (Le Chemin Dit De Lachenal) Cross this road looking for the layby / small parking area on the south side, slightly west of where you came down the bank. Here the singletrack again takes off down a bank, and runs down along side the river. Word of caution, there are hairpins on this one with an element of risk and exposure, but they are all rideable (by expert riders)

Eventually, this spits you out on to a small road (D89A) just above Bozel. From here, you can head due West, and ride all the way down to Brides-les-Bains on a super fast flowy bit of single track running onthe north side of the river!

When you get to Lesbians, you’ll probably want a nice cold beer!

    Hope that helps! Enjoy 😉
