Just under a year ago I took up a two year contract in Mongolia where the missus and the toddler accompanied me out to the steppes to live.

Since Springs has been and gone out there, the bikers have appeared, I wouldn’t say in droves, but a noticeable number of them, some western, some MOngolian, all looking happy.

We are back for the summer, and I’m hunting down a bike or parts to ship back and make a new bike for the end of summer/autumn, or if needs be build it over the winter for next spring. My gut and shrunken (I think they shrank at the dry cleaners) suits attest to my need to ride again.

Has any of the STW folks ridden out that way before? Fascinating place to go, vast hills and openness Ulaanbaatar is at 5000feet, sun is strong, 270+ days of sunshine a year. Definitely worth a visit if you fancy doing a big ride.

Definitely somewhere that I am looking forward to getting back on a bike and riding again.
