I have a new frame. I have parts on an old frame that could quite happily sit on the new frame, save for the fork which is inappropriate. So, do I

    (a) buy a new fork and use the old parts, leaving me with more money in the bank but an old frame and fork lying around doing nothing (it’s a Bianchi MTB frame which I can’t imagine selling second hand, but I actually really like as a rigid “hack” bike)? Buy new bits as and when so I can build up two bikes again

    (b) raid the bank and buy a new fork and groupset, leaving me with a brand new bike and the old one still rideable?

If it wasn’t for the fact there are some bargains to be had at the moment option (b) wouldn’t even get a look in, but you’ve got to love a bargain. Leave it for too long and I suspect I won’t be able to get the groupset etc as cheaply.
