I have a Monarch Plus RC3 in ML tune that i’m looking to reduce the mid and high speed compression on a bit (my frame has a 2:1 leverage ratio). Research (mostly MTBR threads) suggested that the HSC is controlled by the shim stack in the piggyback reservoir, but my testing (removing a couple of shims) and theory from looking how the oil flows, seems to suggest this affects the LSC when using the compression adjustment lever.

Am I right in thinking that I need to be adjusting the main piston shim stack instead?

Get it tuned when you service it or if it’s new just a tune. I got my son’s monarch and sid tuned made a big difference due to his weight
