I feel a rant should be less reasonable.

I’d lend them a repair kit and pump then take the piss remorselessly as they struggle to repair it, sharp intakes of breath followed by “you don’t want to do it like that!!” and laugh as they get out of breath trying to pump it with my useless micro pump.

I carry in my back pocket what is affectionately known as the ‘club pump’ plus three tubes and I pride myself on the five minutes from stop to off again.
Today was the first time I haven’t stepped in, as I’m jolly sick and tired of what amounts to giving someone a fiver every time they puncture.

Seriously dude, It seems that almost every time you post it’s a rant, or a moan, whether due to your own performance or something that someone else has done. I’ll repeat what someone else asked in another thread of yours – do you actually enjoy cycling?

Its a reasonable point madness to cycle any proper distance without a tube and pump and we must have all baled someone out at some point
FWIW my pump once broke and someone, I stopped, baled me out

Of course, and it is a moan. But actually I know it’s because a few folk that turn out with me sometimes, actually don’t want to carry anything. They know someone will pander to them.

This is a bit like those times you go away for a special day of riding, one that you’ve all been looking forward to. And there’s always someone that decides that the morning of the ride is the best time to fit cables, fix punctures, straighten a buckled wheel etc.
