    Hi all,

I’ve heard there’s some great riding in the Mendips / Burrington Coombes area. Does anyone have any advice on where to park, what to look for and any gpx files?

    Cheers!

We normally start from the western edge. Either park at or near the Swan in rowberrow (especially if you are planning a drink or a bite to eat after) or there is a little lane off the A38 called doleberrow that has a small parking space at the end. That one gets a bit full with very limited space on a sunny weekend though. Early start or midweek only

There’s tracks all over so follow you nose and you won’t go too far wrong. Strava global heat map shows it all. Some nice open tracks around the trig point. Some more technical and hidden tracks in the woods (strictly cheeky). Fun place in the dry. Bit messy if its been wet.

Burrington Ham is another popular parking spot but gets busy, as is the road leading to the pony Trekking centre (look for the Mendip Raceway). Swan is probably the best located but please be a customer not just a freeloader. Parking on the road around there is difficult, especially as tractors with big trailers are common around here.
