    Now I'm sure when plucked warm from the stony Provencal ground after ripening to perfection in the sun they are fabulous, but this is May, it's Britain, so just face up to that fact. DO NOT put them in your fruit salad. They are utterly disgusting. No amount of wishful thinking will make that different. You might as well put chunks of soap in there or rotten eggs or something. It's NASTY.

    I fail to see why this simple fact eludes chefs with many years experience and skill in other culinary areas.

    This melon tasted of nothing it was not sweet, it was bitter and thoroughly disgusting.
