In true STW style I would recommend Schwalbe Dirty Dan – roll surprisingly well for mud tyre helped by their light weight and go up tubeless well.

cant seem to find dirty dans anywhere near as cheap as the above 2 though….

About £40 for a pair once shipping is added.

I have both. I’d say the Mud X (or XR Mud this year – exactly the same though) has more grip in deep gloop, as the nobbles are slightly longer, and the Medusa is slightly faster rolling.

Personally, I’d go for a XR Mud on the back, with a Geax Datura front (UST from On-One for £14.99). Get the 2.0 XR Mud, not the 1.8, as its doesn’t have enough volume, and I ripped the nobbles off 2 1.8TLR Mud X last year on rocks.
