So I’ve picked up a set of DeeMax wheels to build up as an uplift/DH wheelset.
I’m also looking to put some faster rolling tyres on my other wheels for summer use.
Can you run my current tyres (Maxxis DHF 2.5″ EXO/HRII 2.3″ EXO) on the Deemax, tubeless? It does say on the rim UST or ETRTO + tube only.
Also, will Stans tubeless valves fit the DM’s? They’re cheaper than the Mavic ones ..

Maxxis Exo tyres work great on Crossmax UST rims, so I’d imagine Deemax would be fine too.

Superstar do two tubeless valves for £7, I’d give them a go.

Thanks mate, will give them a go (abd the SS valves).

Mounted loads of non-tubeless tyres on my Deemax over the years 😉
I put a bit extra latex in, (1/2 scoop) as sometimes the bead will leak a bit as they are not as smooth as a specific UST tyre. Just blow it up to seat the bead and then work the fluid round both sides of the rim. Any leaks will seal eventually.

One warning about valves as the Deemax use narrow rubber ones and some aftermarket ones are round metal and won’t fit in the recess.
However, the Superstar one’s WILL fit ok 🙂
