If you need any parts I can totally recommend Simpsons Cycle Services, if you need any parts then just ask Craig.
I’ve got his number if anyone needs it.

On the other hand I was totally let down by a so called Maverick Specialist this week (John Atkins Cycles) what a load of W******** wouldn’t sell me a critical part then once on the internet they mailed me with an excuse blah blah blah, really crap service, wishing I had never bought my frame from them now and will never set foot in their shop again.

I would second the above. Craig was very helpful in supplying parts quickly – virtually by return of post after emailing him.

also had work done by craig, top top man and excellent service. The maverick has gone now like as lets be honest, they’re a poor product.

Atkins didn’t have any knee warmers last week either, i mean it’s the beginning of autumn and they’ve not thought to restock on winter clothing??

Ivthink you’re wrong Neil, superb product with iffy support maybe but you can’t deny they ride fantastic!

I ordered two tiny rubber seals for my ML7’s air can earlier this year and Atkins were great. I’d tried Sideways (I think) and they didn’t have them. Perhaps I was just lucky?

By poor design i mean the guide blocks being made of cheese. And the support was none existant. I would NEVER by a maverick product. To drop people who’d invested significant money in a product like that is shocking.

with regards the seatpost issue, had one of the very first in the country from sideways seatpost clamp came loose on first ride maverick could not be more helpful sent loads of free goodies from the states to say sorry. when they sold the design to crankbrothers it was crankbrothers that decided to stop stocking the spares but as maverick had sold the design rights what can they do. they helped again by sending loads of spare parts they had at the warehouse

from my point of view i bought a maverick seatpost, they then sold the design to someone else ans suddenly i had no aftersales support so much so that i now had a very expensive paper weight. So after what, two years of production? There were little to no spares. Thats a piss take in anyones eyes. Crank bros importer 2pure bent over backwards but what could they do? They had bought a design and developed it. Crank bros bought the degin not the obligation to supply parts for another cycle co? Doesn’t matter now anyway, i’ve just put it down to experience, these things happen.

Neil, I’m sure if you contacted Ethan at Maverick he’d be able to help.

    Likewise…

Craig Simpson, top top bloke. Rang him up, asked about parts availability. He said no problems but to fire him an email with the part numbers I wanted. Lo and behold, next day they’re through my letterbox with an invoice! That’s speedy service…

Ethan is also perhaps the nicest most helpful bloke I’ve ever dealt with. Had a long email conversation a while ago about various aspects of my frame and forks, he was superb!

Oh, and should add that in the past Tim @ Sideways was brilliant when I had a couple of technical questions, not sure how much he deals with Mavericks any more though…
