OK, before we start, I’m a responsible adult. If I read something here, copy it, and it all goes wrong, I accept all blame.

So, that said, anyone DIY’d a Marzocchi press in steerer replacement, ally if that makes a difference? Is it just a simple industrial press job (perhaps with a bit of crown warming/stem cooling thrown in for good measure)?

i believe, the way zocchi do it, it they freeze the steerers in a big liquid nitrogen jobby, and just drop them into the crowns.
as they expand, they lock in.

not sure i would want to do it myself!
then again, if its tapered at the bottom so it cant pull out, itl be ok i think.
worst it will do it be bent!
(or split the crown i guess)

£65, not bad considering steerer alone is £45ish I guess. Mind you, postage to figure in there too.

I’ve heard two schools of thought on the cyro nitrogen process, some say a steerer replacement isn’t done that way although the original steerer was.

    Mmm, choices, choices.
