Good evening STW. I’m running the Birmingham Marathon on the 15th October, a fair feat for a (formally) fat cyclist and something well outside of my comfort zone. A few people (albeit in the real work, not here) have asked if I’m doing it for charity and no, I’m not. Instead, I have suggested to them that any money they might have considered giving to sponsor me they give to a charity that means something to them personally instead. In fact, I will be giving a crisp £20 to a local charity to sponsor myself.

So, in a hit of “sod it, why not”, I thought I’d share this on STW with the hope that somewhere a charity will get a fiver due some Brummie on “that bloody bike forum” running a marathon.
