I struggle with long sentences, so sorry if this has been posted

I always steep the porridge overnight in 50/50 milk and water. Softens the oats and makes the porridge creamier. Ready in around 3-4 mins (pan), probably 2-3 in microwave.

Oh…so now we are having to soak as well? 5 mins you say?

Do you plan to hang around all night waiting for it to soak in? I suppose that would take a bit longer.

Before going to bed, oats, milk and water in pan, left on cooker (cooker is off). Next morning, cooker on, stir, ready in a few minutes. Less time than not steeping and nicer porridge (IMO).
You could hang around all night watching it if you like. I prefer to spend the time in bed and sleeping but that’s maybe just me

    Right then, I’m getting there…………

This morning, used a large Pyrex mixing bowl, half a cup of oats, just enough milk to cover, gave it a stir beforehand, nuked for 3 mins with a quick stir half way through.

Tomorrow same process but with the oats soaked in the milk overnight

Simple to measure I use a Mug.
Half fill the mug with porridge
1 full mug of cold water
Pour both into a bowl and microwave at 750 for 4 mins and top with honey
    Perfect porridge every time.
