I am looking to buy an item from a private buyer, can I make a payment with my credit card?

I have a paypal account and they have my credit card details.

Reading that back now sounds stupid!!! [Lesson to myself don’t post while under the influence and late at night]

What I ment to say was private seller and that paypal have my credit card details.

I was thinking of bidding on an item and I won’t have enough funds in my paypal account.

Can I buy the item through paypal with my credit card?
