I know this would be considered silly by most of you, so there’s no need to point it out 🙂 I’m simply curious as to whether or not it could be done.

I have an old set of 66s that I’ve never been that happy with, and I think I could improve them somewhat by getting rid of the silly PAR air chamber and using its valve and central shaft to pressurise the negative air spring. It would totally work, except for the bit that’s machined out of the central shaft for their ‘automatic’ negative spring concept which I don’t think works that well.

So all I’d need would be a thin tube made to exactly the right external diameter (easy enough) but it would need to be coated with that bronzy beige coloured anodizing they use inside forks. Is that normal anodising or something expensive and fancy?
