I have used half OJ, half water with a pinch of salt (should be able to just taste the salt).

And make sure it's OJ with out the 'bits' if you're drinking it through a nozzle.

I find beer works pretty well:

    High water content rehydrates.
    Carbs for energy.
    Hops make it thirst quenching.
    Alcohol numbs the pain.
Readily and widely available in numerous variants.

Just the job, but I wouldn't put it in a camelback.

A Vitamin C tablet dropped into my bottle then filled up with council pop works for me a treat.
My metabolism was lousy on early morning rides till I started doing this drink – works well for me.
Seems to give me energy whatever time of the day.

Swamp boy has it. Beer is the finest post ride drink there is. SCIENCE FACT!

However. Stella in a Hydrapak was a bad experience on many levels.
