I’ve got the Magura MT4’s and they are absolutely ferocious brakes.

These MT2s should feel slightly less life threatening. All Magura stuff is absolutely bombproof, an is fit and forget. I’ve always been a big fan

Had both – there is a big difference in lever shape between the stubby Shimano and longer blade of the Magura which may or may not affect how much you like the brakes.

In terms of power, reliability etc they are both good.

I’ve got a set of MT6’s coming up for sale too…..

I’d stick with the SLX personally. I’ve ran MT2’s on my trials bike and whilst the power isn’t bad the lack of adjustment is a pain and I’ve seen quite a few leak.

    Flip a coin.
That’s the two very best brake manufacturers you’ve suggested there, neither will disappoint. 🙂

I have both on various bikes. I find Maguras easier to bleed and fettle and I prefer their feel. However, the slx once set up properly just work. In other words – both good.
