Battery on Mrs S’s MJ-836 has packed up, second one in as many years and I’m sure things have moved on.

Was thinking MTB Batteries for a new unit plus decent battery, but would welcome advice on alternatives up to about £100, possibly a bit more.

All in one unit would be convenient if it doesn’t detract from performance.

She uses it mainly off road, some on road from heavy traffic to lanes.

Really not up to date with this stuff, my MS type cheapie has lasted years.

Can’t recommend Gloworm highly enough.

Bit more expensive, but when you consider its quality, the price really is very good VFM.

The X1 is 950 Lumens and around £145, the X2 is 1500 Lumens and around £180, but can guarantee it’s worth the extra over and above a Magicshine…

That said, I have a brand new X1 for sale (warranty replacement, bought an X2 in the meantime) if you were interested at all…

One of the criteria is that is has to be free of ‘faff’, hence considering an all in one.

I was looking at this a few weeks back and went the MTB Batteries route. Perfectly happy with both units (helmet and bar)
