    The 1.8 doesn’t struggle. The MR2 feels nippier and the S2000 looks better looking but the MX5 has balance, poise and more importantly feels like a second skin.

    For me- its steering feel first, then handling, then power. It should always be in this order with any car IMO.

    The S2000 (for me) is power, handling then steering. If the OP’s missus cares merely about colour etc I’d recommend a Mini Cooper.
