Thinking of upgrading from a helmet-mounted Ay-Up (Feb 2009) to a Lumenator.

Has anyone done this – or compared the light output?
Worth the pennies?

I have 09 Ay-Ups but not a Lumenator however I can confidently say the Lumenator will be significantly brighter based off comparison with other lights I have that aren’t as good as it is. Whether you actually need more than the Ay-Ups depends on where and how fast you ride.

OP – are you aware that Ay Up does upgrades?

Ayup aren’t doing the upgrades from the 19th of this month until next Feb, btw.

TBH even the very latest Ayup still isn’t very bright- they’ve more or less caught up with 2010. But they’re still lovely little units so if you’re not in the lumen war, still worth considering.

I’ve compared them. I have lumenator, mate has ay-up. Post test, he’s ordered a lumenator and will use ay-up on his road bike….nuff said!
