Say you want a list of 500 co-ordinates, spread in a matrix across an island. How would you do it?

    ask me nicely

    🙂

    what island and what spacing?

Do you have a fixed point you want to work from?

    Alternatively

to find one point co-ord then use a spreadsheet to add the number of meters east and north from there.

Hello kind sir, I’d be very grateful of any help you can offer 😀

Say Madagascar, 500 points. Matrix all the way over in squares, or evenly spaced round the coastline.

How would you do it? using some fancy software I’ll likely not have access to?

Just seen I missed your first one, josh. Don’t think that’ll work.

Cheers though. Anything else up your sleeve?

By matrix do you mean regular grid? And does it have to be 500 exactly and a regular grid? I’m not sure the science behind this sampling strategy is sound and depending on the shape of the island it may not physically be possible if it has to be a regular grid
