Out of personal curiosity, wondering if anyone has seen any statistics that show cycling deaths versus car deaths on the roads, by either miles traveled or annual drivers/cyclists? I did some websurfing and found data such as this:

    http://safety.fhwa.dot.gov/facts_stats/

    and this:

    http://trafficsafety.org/safety/sharing/bike/bike-facts/bike-injuries-fatalities

    and this:

By the Numbers, Flying is a lot Safer than Driving or Taking the Train

but they only show total number of deaths per vehicle type (sometimes versus the overall population), without comparative usage/travel amounts. We all know (because they tell us) that flying is safest method of travel in terms of deaths per passenger miles, but I haven’t been able to find any comparative data for cycling deaths.
    Just curious!

Any figure for miles travelled would be a wild guess tbh.
