I use split peas, lentils, a bit of onion and celery and chicken stock !

At christmas mine was turned into turkey, leek and gammon pie a la Jamie “Mockney” Oliver.

Been a winner with the family for the last couple of years.

If you’ve got ham stock left over gammon and pea risotto is the way to go. Apple juice and bouillon can be used at a pinch instead of ham stock.

Risotto is a good way of using up a load of leftover stuff.

Conchiglie pasta, bechamel, mushrooms, onion and garlic white wine, parmesan. Gammon into small cubes. Stick it all in a over proof dish with some cheddar/mozzarella on top and al forno the bejesus out of it.

With garlic bread.

Shred it, coat in Lyme Bay Winery Spicey Tomato Chutney (with Jack Rat Cider 😉 ). into VERY hot pan, caramelise, then into fresh granary bread triple decked.
