What’s everyone’s experience of Lee Quarry? Is it ok for short travel hardtails?

Also does anyone have decent idiot-proof directions? Don’t have GPS and my old OS doesn’t seem to recognise that there is a quarry in the area.

    it’s here:

Just ride up the metalled road and keep going – it’s all pretty obvious when you get there.

    chimptastic,

The course is great and fun can be had on any bike really. There are some rocky patches, but the large slabs and berms actually make it pretty smooth. It’s not too hard to find either. You may well appreciate the short travel hardtail for the climb up from the carpark too!

you really can ride it on anything, but a full susser can be a bit more forgiving?! i’ve ridden on both however as have many other people!

http://www.brownbacksracing.co.uk has some pics of the course and links through the gallery.

done it in an 80 mm travel forks hardtail including the black run which is actually better on a FS rest neither here nor there as pretty smooth (sneakily not warning OP about the bit after the berm on the singletrack)
