I've built a lot of bikes myself now, so I have a reasonable idea of what I'm doing.
Do you think that if I just asked them to send all the bits, they would be willing to let me build it up myself? (It's a road bike incidentally)
when i worked for evans it was a no in case you put the forks on backwards/ dont do up the QR and sue them for killing you
some manufacturers get a bit sniffy about warranty things when it isn't built by a 'qualified person'.
be careful that you don't void your chances of come back if something is wrong.

Depends where the pinch point in the system is. If they have all the parts in stock, then there should be no problem. If they are waiting on stock then I guess there is little you can do.

With Ribble, I'd expect that sort of information to result in a 6 week wait at the very least. They aren't known for their customer service or communications.
