ours is either Barrie or Pauline*

*it's quite entertaining when people try to work out if you're being serious or not. Especially when you specify "Barrie with an IE"

if they baby is small you MUST call him Hercules.
    its the law.
we didn't name our boy for his first 3 days; originally he was going to be called Morgan, but he didn't look like a morgan so he got named Benjamin James.
the reasoning …. benjamin because at 9lb 1oz – big Ben; James because his surname is Cook and James COOK 'found' Australia (my second favourite country).
yes, i know his initials will be B.J. but he is a big bast4rd and he will kick your teethin if you take the p1ss 😉

My default diversionary name is Derek. Not Derrick, or Derryck. Derek.

"Because you know where you are with Derek."

Rosco-Osbaldistan Ferguson has a certain ring to it (I used to have a rat called this, without the Ferguson bit, but don't let that put you off).

My boy is due in November and I want to call him Logan, but Mrs B isn't having it. Hoping she will come around in the end as I can't think of anything else I like.

So far both the names 'Simon' and 'Massey' have been suggested. Is it mine? Was ourwomaninthenorth the lady I had the knee-trembler with behind the bus depot early in the new year?

    How about Gustavus Ulysses Ferguson…
    aka GUF 😆

Wanted to call one of my son's Botolph but the 'ex wasn't keen. He got named Callum (same name as an old friend) and we didn't know any other young kids called that. So thought it would be pretty rare.

That year Callum jumped into the top 10 on the baby names list = I have no idea why; looking at the kids maybe there was some famous wendyball player with that name ❗ When he hit school there were 3 in his class.

I have thought about this and have decided you may call him Epicyclo.

Ah well. Looks like it'll just be little Barrie/Pauline Massey then 😉

To shut our relatives up, we told them that the two choices we had for boys names were Adolf and Ghengis, as "they're not very popular and we don't him to have a common name"

Adolf. Just like the bloke who founded Adidas….

Shouldn't that be Edward Theodore Logan Esq…

Er, I think it should actually be Theodore "Ted" Logan, but that's how I remember it from the film.

    What about Garfield?

    Its future-proof.

Only we know it was a cartoon-strip cat from the 80's. In the future it'll lose this connotation with boys/girls his age.

Well, time is ticking. Tomorrow and we'll have an answer.

(hora – Garfield, as in the cricketer Garfield Sobers, famous for scoring six sixes in an over?)

    Yes.

Nickname can also be Garf 🙂
