So I’m looking for a dropper post but money is tight at the moment. If I was going to get a cable/hydraulic actuated post it would need to be internal routing to be compatible with and make maximum usage of my frames cable routing setup and these ‘stealth’ droppers are crazy money. I’m not willing to take a gamble on a second hand dropper either.

The Lev Dropzone has the wee lever under the seat not on the bars. Now I know it wouldn’t be as usable as a bar mount control but what are your experiences with these?

    Thanks.

Plenty good enough. Helps if you know the trail so you can get it dropped before you get to sections, otherwise it can be a bit lairy trying to drop the post mid tech/high speed downhill.

I have the lever dropzone on my hardtail and a thomson dropper on my full suss. Have the lever only on my hardtail mostly because I regularly ride exactly where I know on my hardtail, so its really my winter or local bimble bike. This means I know when it needs to come up and down, its still very occasionally annoying to make it to a bit where I can take my hand off the bars. Depends on your bike and usage I guess, I wouldn’t be worried about picking a dropper up second hand depending on the model, the dropzone for example is insanely easy to service without specialist parts. A lot of cable operated droppers will be the same in terms of ease of servicing.
