I’m after a replacement middle chainring for my XTR chainset and have been stunned by the increse in price – £90 for an XTR replacement.

I’ve stumbled upon this KCNC replacement – does anybody have any experience with them or can anyone offer an alternative?

Middleburn are well thought of, they even do XTR specific replacements as some XTR cranks have non-standard BCD.

    Hey specializedneeds – What’s BCD?

BCD, or PCD-bolt/pitch circle diameter, the diameter of the circle that the chainring bolts sit on.

Specialites TA do nice rings, i’m using the chinook 104bcd on my xt cranks but they also do some xtr rings i believe

Try middleburn slickshift ones. They’re a bit more expensive but I’ve got them and they are superb. Never had a problem and don’t seem to wear!
