  • Just bought an Audi,do i have to buy a full set of pads now?

    As above,i thought they came with a full down hill pad set but cant seem to find them in the car.Should i purchase some and if so which ones?(dont want to turn up in the carpark and look a twit in the wrong pads).Your thoughts please.

    You need:-

    Audi (check)
    Pads
    Met parachute helmet
    a 40″ waist (approx)
    a “rig” or “steed”
    a loud voice

    Buy a shiny FS to go on the roof rack. I presume you work in IT?

    Make sure you keep golf clubs in the boot to swing at cyclists who use your road! (sorry, just personal experience!)

    No – but if it’s a diesel expect to use plenty of engine oil. You can probably get some nice engine oil from Rapha.

    I’ve got one, don’t wear pads (unless the trails warrant it), don’t work in IT, don’t ride a Marin/Specialized…..and I’ve only had to top the oil up once in 36,000miles

    ….oh go, I feel so alone 🙁

    and igm is right, buy yourself a big container of engine oil. oil light comes on as often as the fuel light

    An Orange 5 would be better, preferably in a ridiculously garish colour. Oh and it needs to be very clean.

    Own a specialized: yep, a skill compensating enduro
    pads : no, no pads
    40 inch waist : no, only 36″, give it a couple more years though and I could be there.
    Middle aged : near enough , 38
    drive like a nob : only when the bike isnt on the roof
