Time to spare a thought for the people we don't hear about.

They hardly mentioned the struggle of Papua New Guinea ...

Thought provoking stuff. Puts a certain couple of former world leaders in the same ballpark as a long dead german...

Astonishing that a politically charged, two hour long documentary is being shown on ITV.

All Pilger's documentaries have been on ITV. Must have some lifetime contract or something.

Yes, shame it's on so late.

I delivered a package to John Pilger in summer. I didn't realise I was delivering to him. I just said "it's you"
Think I embarrassed him a bit with my hero worship. Lent my dad hidden agendas, he couldn't read it all as it made him too angry. I missed this as I was out, guess itv has some iplayer thing hopefully.

So basically the news organisations are defenceless against mean government propaganda. Bless.
I should not be this angry this late....gonna be tough sleeping later.

That apache footage is sickening

Why do you need to trust any of them whether they are media or govt propaganda?

Both media & propaganda have their own agendas ... simple.

Genius!
So who do you think is right or accurate in information they provide to the viewer?
p/s: So he has now written a book ... hhhmmm ... I bet that must be a good earner.

Great programme. Everyone should see it.

So he has now written a book ... hhhmmm ... I bet that must be a good earner.
Because of how highly regarded as a journalist he is and all the awards he has won ?
Well I suppose you could be right.

Wasn't on in Scotland I don't think? Anyone know when it's due to be screened?

Media and propaganda do NOT have different messages/agendas - that's the point! What we see in our media is outrageous propaganda.
Over a million dead in Iraq. Half a million children before that just because of sanctions alone. Innocent blood on our hands, especially if we ignore it!

It was on in scotland.

Yeah, it's probably just a promotional scam for all the other excellent books he's written.

Thanks, Watched it on Iplayer this after. Thought provoking stuff...

Watching this program which was imo well presented but had its own agenda made me think. Have I gotten so much more cynical with age or is the news media spoon feeing us bs most of the time with a very few honourable exceptions? Thanks to ITV for showing this anyway

Pity Beckham didnt see it before his SPOTY speech last night.
10% of those killed in the First World War were civilians.
90% of those killed in the war in Iraq and Afghanistan have been civilians.

So different though eh? If the iraq war was fought like most of ww1 & 2 then i could see the point, but it wasnt sadly.
