It seems he likes to ride bikes… and once did it from Sydney to Liverpool.

I don't understand. The headline says "comedian" but the article's about John Bishop.

I really like John Bishop, now I like him a bit more - just a shame he's a scouser
Posted 1 year ago # -
He grew up in Runcorn which makes him a bit less of a scouser...
So he ain't as much of a scouser as Aldo!

I liked harry_the_spider, but now that it's clear he reads the mail, I'm not so sure

Steady on there fella!
I was reading a review of Route Irish (Google it, I can't be arsed explaining) and one link lead to another.

I assume that is an advertorial.

Anything west of the M6 and north of the M56 and south of the M55 is a scouser in my book (excluding Preston)

Don't be ashamed. The mail is about as far as a newspaper can get from my political outlook, but I read the Mail app on my phone, it has great photos and it makes me feel superior knowing that I don't share the same moral outrage...

bloke on telly rides bikes shocka.

runcorn is scouse with added chemical imbalance

I assume that is an advertorial.
Couldn't help thinking the same.

I think it's fair to say that we can both agree that you know nothing on such matters, I can reliably inform you that anyone from outside the m57 with the exception of Kirkby, and north of maghull/Crosby is definitely a 'wool'...

..... "I thought I'd like a flash new bike, so my PA phoned Specialized and promised photos in the Daily Mail, and then Evans did a bike fit"
Posted 1 year ago # -
Maghull is indeed "wool"
Posted 1 year ago # -
Exactly
I took it into Manchester to Evans Cycles, where one of the assistants helped fit it so it was set up correctly for me.
Still - I would do it for a free bike too.

Ha Ha - I work with a bloke from St. Helens who get refereed to as a wollyback by the proper scousers here:)
Posted 1 year ago # -
and yes, I'd bend over in public to get a free £2k bike

My bird's from Maghull, she'd murder anyone that suggested she was a wool!

Advertorial yes but given the fact that John Bishop is such hot property and he has sold out the length of breath of the country, has his own tv show and is generally on the telly all the time why would we assume he would do this for a free low end bike give he is probably earning £m's per year.
Not a big fan by the way but riding Syney to Liverpool sounds a bit good!

He probably got a fair bit more than a free bike - nice work if you can get it.

They're lovely... Until they speak!
(I hope she doesn't read this...)

Doesnt say whether he made it to Australia
Posted 1 year ago # -
I heard he once mistook a chicken for a dead baby
Posted 1 year ago # -
He's got a supporting role in the new Ken Loach film, of all things. Doesn't do too badly either might I say.

YupCashing in - not that is wrong mind you, but I do hate those thinly-veiled 'articles' - it isn't news and it isn't even particularly amusing or interesting.

Oh FFS I wish I hadn't bothered.

Isn't that the point of posting on STW, the feeling of total apathy after trying to share something on here?Posted 1 year ago # -
It's what we do.

I give up. I'd flounce if I wasn't too busy (I post during print jobs).
There goes the BEEP from the plotter. I'm off.

Went into Evans in Manchester recently to return some shoes.
Nice people, excellent service and lots of shiny things.
Quite a pleasant experience.I like John Bishop and his promotion of cycling can only be a positive thing.
On the whole I'm now happier than I was before I opened this thread.Ta.

Not hard to do. A lot of things taste like chicken.Posted 1 year ago # -
I once went into Greggs the Bakers. Granted, the products weren't very shiny but they were much tastier than bike parts and the staff were still lovely.
Do you think the Daily Mail would like to do an in-depth interview with me? I only cost 3 sausage rolls for a quid.
