After walking to the pub on Friday night I realised my all purpose waterproof is completely useless. And as there seems to be slightly damp summer on the horizon could you good people recommend me a new jacket for riding and non-riding. Must be waterproof, lightweight and compact! It doesn't have to be warm! Budget around £150

Mountain Hardwear Epic. Conduit fabric is very breathable. You can pick them up for £60 or less (1/2 price +). Pit zips, good hood that folds down. Lightweight and small pack size and short length.

i like my altura attack, under £100 now. Features are pit vents, chest pockets, hip pockets, proper biking cut, reflective details. Neck and waist draw strings.
Plus it doesn't appear too warm, keeps the weather out and is a close cut so not too baggy.
One of my better purchases

I got a sale berghaus packlite for £80 instead of £150 I think - got ripstop and very light and breathable - I think all of them get pretty wet inside when peeing down when sweating a lot.

just taken delivery of a Gore Oygen 3, seems to be perfect for what i wanted. No surplus features, no pockets, no pit zips, hood etc.
Fit is slim with some stretch Goretex as well as Paclite ripstop.
Only downer is it probably isn't the best for wandering round town but as a riding top seems pretty much what i wanted.

I picked up one of these in TK max today for £30, so it may be worth a look if you can.

It seemed a bargain so I bought it to walk the dogs in. I also bought one of these
for summer biking duties on friday after getting drenched on thursday nights bike ride.
Both are light & pack very small, although the montane is obviously lighter & a bit smaller.
