Been lent a go pro for a ski holiday,no remote.

was going to get”the app” is there any better apps than there own?

is there such a thing as a cheaper 3rd party remote?

The official one is free and it works. You can still use the buttons on the camera itself though, you don’t need an app/remote.

A word of warning. The Gopro app doesn’t work with the last few IOS versions of iphones, 7 onwards I think. Mine worked fine last year on phone and ipad, then the next time I tried to use it this year ( skiing ) nothing.Its all over the web, with Apple blaming Gopro and vice versa. No use to us though!

I use the app for setup a bit and that’s it. If your going skiing check it’s pointing in the right place then put the phone away.
