    Italian = 70mm wide BB shell, drive side cup has right hand thread
    English = 68mm or 73mm wide BB shell, drive side cup has left hand thread

    bike is in a lock up so cannot check (not lazy)

    All MTBs are English. Italian thread is only found in Italian road bikes.

    I am building a mate a winter roadie from his crashed specialized and old ebay Ribble. The Ribble (UK bike, as you prolly know) has an Italian BB which is mystifying.
