I have a set of a few year old / thrashed xtr pedals – the engagaement plates have noticeable wear and creates a loose cleat feel ( even with brand new cleats ) when riding and can release very easily despite max tension…

the pedals have been superb and I hate throwing away stuff – is it possible to get new spares to give them a new lease of life?

I could ask my lbs but frankly they are useless…

    cheers

Any LBS that deals with Madison (pretty much all LBS’s) should be able to get the spares if they are available

Yes, they are called SPD body plates, and you should be able to get them quite easily.

Just get some Shiamno 520s from Merlin for £17 including cleats and swap the top plates, sure they won’t be coated in the posh XTR stuff, but they should swap over and it’ll only cost a few quid more than cleats alone.
