  • Is Helitape the same as mylar sail repair tape?

    As per title really – I have a roll of sail repair tape left over from my kitesurfing days. Does anyone know if it will do the job on my frame? (& if I am likely to be able to take it off when needed, it sticks to wet cloth!)

    I suspect the heilitape is a bit tougher than mylar repair tape

    Different stuff.

    However, Mylar tape should be pretty good as a frame protector. Can’t comment on getting it off again…

    Heli-tape is thicker, and will last longer before it is rubbed through.
