    Should you just press the bearings in and leave them with no surrounding grease? Carbon paste seems gritty so I presume you don’t want that anywhere near bearings?

    Seems odd – and a recipe for bearings dying quicker, even if they are sealed and have grease inside the bearing itself of course.

    Ask the manufacturer of your frame. I checked with mine, and they said to grease.

    So synthetic grease is probably the answer.
