Seeing as the stw massive know everything about pretty much everything we need to replace a tv from our recent burglary. We will be getting a voucher for comet for £775 and could do with some advice on what to go for. It needs to work well for gaming and bluray via a ps3 :-). We had a 37" toshiba lcd but it seems plasma is gaining in popularity. We could maybe go up to a 42". So what do you guys recomend.

Crumbs. I thought 28" was plenty big enough to watch TV on, perhaps i need to get a 56" TV and put it at the bottom of the garden?
the 35" CRT one I was just given by my m8 who 'upgraded' to a LCD HD TV.
He's already admitted the pictures better on his old one (unless its from a HD source)... sorry I know, not much help to you.

I got a Toshiba 42" for £425 (including a £100 rebate offer from Tosh) - it's ace. It was a toss-up between that and a Panasonic, both very good.

Not sure where you heard that, its on the way out. LED gives the best image IMO
Don't get a plasma if you care about your leccy bill! 
More likely there are deals on plasma's to shift old stock.
OLED's rock, mainly becasue one of out lecturers was working on their developmet, ceckoned they'd be big enough for phone screens within a few years of our graduation, just shows even experts can be wrong :-p
