I’ve picked up a groin (adductor) injury, the trouble is I have a 10K race tomorrow.

The funny thing is that it only hurts when I walk (I haven’t tried running since I did it on Thursday evening), and it seems to go when I rest.

The question is: Has anyone else had this? Is there anything I can do to make the race tomorrow (stretching, light exercise etc)?

I think I know the answer, but I thought I’d ask anyway.

Pain in your knee? To the outside? Or actual pain in your hip?

I’d say that, if you ran the race, it would be ok for the first few k, then would start hurting. If it is just pain (not an injury), then you can run on with enough painkillers, but it will be nasty when you finish.

The sensible option would be to rest. You know that.

No, the tightness/pain is in the groin area. No knee issues.
